THIS UNIQUE LEGACY UNFOLDS IN THE QUALITY AND CRAFT IN EVERY MEASURE OF SPIRIT AND THE ADORNMENT OF EACH INDIVIDUAL BOTTLE - EACH MARK AND DECORATION HOLDS SIGNIFICANCE

A homage to the history in which our rum is set, our Jamaican x Dominican rum blend has been distilled using the oldest and most authentic method: pot stills. This is widely regarded as the way to produce the most desirable spirit.

Smuggling caves in East Neuk are awash with tales of adventure and legend. These hidden caves were used during the 18th and 19th centuries by smugglers who sought to avoid paying taxes on their goods.

The free-traders would transport contraband such as alcohol, and tobacco through the caves to avoid detection by customs officials. These caves provided these dangerous men with shelter, storage and fortification.

One such tale is that of Dorchadas - an arcane and curious rum, distilled in the Caribbean.

The smugglers would fight through wrack an' wraith to bring this rare spirit to shore, navigating treacherous waters while giving the 'excise-men' a wide berth.

It was said that the taste of Dorchadas was so rich and complex that it could transport the drinker to another time and place.

Two modern-day vagabonds now seek to revive the legendary recipe of Dorchadas, after using a kaleidoscope to decipher ancient markings on the walls of Wemyss cave...

This unique legacy unfolds in the quality and craft in every measure of the spirit, and the adornment of each individual bottle — each mark and decoration holds significance. A homage to the free-traders.

The water used for our reduction is sourced from another small (but mighty) local business - the East Neuk Salt Co.

The distilled water is considered a byproduct of salt production and it's reuse negates the use of a fossil-fuel driven distillation process, and the disposing of chemicals asscoiated with it.

Sustainable

All Natural

Two years in the making, our recipe for Dorchadas boasts no added colourings, flavourings, or artificial sweeteners.

Our "amber spiced rum" gets its golden hue from the Sea Buckthorn berries, and cocao husks - a byproduct sourced from a local chocolatier.

Single Pot Distilled

Our Dominican Republic x Jamaican high ester blend base embodies the  Caribbean spirit. Rich, lucious mollasses from the Dominican, combined with the light, fruity - and distinctly "funky"  spirit so commonly associated with Jamaica
